Two competitors from the local Ko Sutemi Dojo karate club recently traveled to Stockton, CA and participated in the GSKA USA Nationals Open Karate Championships. Rhonda Lashbrook competed in the womens Brown BeltĀ forms division and won a first place championship ring, she also competed in the weapons forms division and took a second place trophy with her Sai Kata. Rhonda's son William Lashbrook won two first place championship rings, one for continuous sparring in the young mens brown belt division, also a first place in the young mens brown belt forms. Both Rhonda and William have been very active in the GSKA tournament circuit this year and have done very well. They both qualify for the Clash of the Warriors tournament held in Lake Tahoe on October 16th and 17th. |

For many years the "Ko Sutemi Seiei Kan" has been feared for its prowess in the ring and respected for the expertise of its members. The "Seiei Kan" has indeed been widely recognized by the world as a leader in the Karate Circuit. The meaning of Ko Sutemi Seiei Kan is this: Ko Sutemi: Success by any means. Seiei: Elite or pick of the best. Kan: Perception or intuition. In our system we emphasize the learning of traditional "kata" (ancient pre-arranged sequence of movements utilizing all of the techniques and stances) often called the "Art" in Martial Arts. Kata is the mark of any traditional karate school.
